Driving my involvement with Local Impact is the desire to see our kids in Melbourne’s inner west thrive in a tight-knit and supportive community, the sort of community I was lucky to have when growing up in a small regional town.
As a Certified Practising Accountant and member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors, I bring to my work as Board Member and Treasurer over twenty years of experience in finance roles across a range of industries, including the Australian Energy Market Operator where I was Chief Financial Officer. Moreover, I have thirty years of finance experience, including holding Chief Financial Officer roles, across industries in the not-for-profit sector.
Working in not-for-profits has given me valuable experience in striking the right balance between practical outcomes and financial sustainability. I know the work Local Impact is doing through such programs as Money Mentor and Community Bike Hub is successfully achieving this balance whilst having a positive impact on our young people and others in the community.
It is a wonderful privilege to be part of the Local Impact team developing a sustainable organisation that evolves and grows. We will continue to create a visible lasting legacy with partnerships and programs that nuture our people.
