Inner West Community Resources (IWCR)

Our story

In our roles at Local Impact, we get to see the most impactful stories, often involving grass roots organisations who do amazing things to support people in need in their community.

All too often though, these organisations are unstructured, struggling to be sustainable, searching for volunteers to help them manage the operations and governance of their organisations. Understanding the governance requirements, organisational structures, simple bookkeeping and reporting requirements required to manage their responsibilities.

Local Impact can help these organisations through its pillars of Connection, Education and Support, and Inner West Community Resources (IWCR) can help fund these organisations as the benevolent arm of Local Impact.

IWCR will exclusively operate to help those organisations supporting individuals in benevolent need in Melbourne’s West.

Funds will be sourced by IWCR and Local Impact services will be accessible to community organisations supporting those in need in our community.

We can support smaller, grass roots organisations that may not have the structure, capacity or expertise required to attract certain funding.

IWCR can source funds through third parties or raise its own funds. Funds can then be provided as Grants, Deeds of Gift or Program Specific Funding to eligible organisations through Funding Contracts with performance indicators.

Alongside funding sourced through IWCR, Local Impact can offer support to beneficial organisations to help them improve their capacity, capability and expertise through their Professional Services including governance, strategy, bookkeeping, grant writing and storytelling.

Collectively, IWCR and Local Impact will help build the capacity and capability of Beneficial Organisations by providing both funding (IWCR) and wrap-around professional services (Local Impact).

Funders can gain confidence that their funds are being used efficiently and effectively by IWCR’s Beneficial Organisations knowing they will be provided with support and expertise, ensuring the funds are both appropriately spent and professionally acquitted.
