An unprecedented event for Melbourne’s West, Gather for Good will bring together individuals and organisations that are Doing Good in our community, connected by a common cause of developing community resilience and sustainability.

Delivered by Local Impact, under our pillars of Connection, Education and Support, this event will provide an opportunity for participants to network, collaborate, and workshop practical solutions to build and grow our community organisations.

This practical session will demystify artificial intelligence and explore how not-for-profits and impact-driven organisations can use AI tools to improve efficiency, communication and community impact. Participants will leave with practical tips and accessible strategies to apply in their own organisations.

Fundraising That Works

Delivered by a strategic fundraising expert, this session will guide participants through the development of a diversified fundraising strategy. Learn practical approaches to strengthening donor engagement, increasing funding opportunities and achieving sustainable fundraising targets.

Collaboration Not Competition

In a challenging funding environment, collaboration is more important than ever. This panel discussion will showcase real examples of organisations working together to share resources, strengthen impact and secure better outcomes for their communities. Participants will leave with a deeper understanding of how these may apply in their own contexts.

Mentoring That Matters

This session explores the important role mentoring plays, when it is led and developed by community leaders. Panel speakers will share their experiences, approaches and the impact of community-based, peer-focussed mentoring, including how it creates practical pathways for learning, growth and opportunity.

Effective storytelling is essential for engaging communities, attracting funding and building support. This session will provide practical tips on how to communicate your organisation’s impact in a clear, authentic and compelling way.

Co-Design in Actions

When thoughtfully applied, co-design is a powerful approach to creating programs that truly meet community needs. In this interactive workshop, participants will deep-dive into examples of practical co-design methods that embed lived experience into program planning and improve outcomes with community members.

Diversifying Revenue

Sustainable organisations rely on diverse income streams. In this session, speakers will share practical insights and real-world experiences on strengthening grants, partnerships, earned income and other revenue sources to build long-term sustainability.

Not-for-Profit Structures 101

Choosing the right organisational structure is critical to long-term success. This session will help participants understand different not-for-profit structures, including their benefits, limitations and key considerations for governance and growth.
